I found this one with 4wheelin_fool since I know my safety IS guaranteed with him [:)]

We pulled up to the parking and I kind of felt like I had been here before for another SPACE cache but all these gamelands are starting to look alike to me so I'm not sure [:P] We saw there was another car there with geostickers and a batman sticker but we weren't sure who it belonged to.

We headed over to Stage 1 to see if we could locate it. I had a feeling we should take the climbing gear with us but we left it in the car since the first Stage wasn't too far away. Of course when there's no real trail, its a bit longer [;)] I had a feeling the second stage would just be farther in since I knew from the logs that it was all bushwacking, so I would advise future seekers to just bring the gear with you from the beginning.

We arrived at Stage 1 and Mark saw the other cachers heading off towards the final with their gear. AT that point we should have just stalked them and asked to share the gear and we would have saved a lot of time and energy, but I guess that would be cheating [:D]

As the FTF team mentioned, Stage 1 took quite some time to locate. In the end the coordinates seemed pretty good and the hide was perfectly reasonable. The coordinates had me zeroing out mostly in one spot but sometimes at a different spot slightly uphill (northwest). This stage was found approximately between those two stages. As a small hint to future seekers - its not in that mess where you might break (or re-break) an ankle trying to search.

By the time we actually located Stage I, the other cachers had already climbed to the final and were on their way back [:O]. We did beat them back out of the woods though and I dropped Mark off with the gear at a slightly different access point to go to the final. Back at the parking lot I ran into Traditional Bill and Donut the Cat (nice to see you guys) [:)]

I returned to the final where 4wf had the climbing gear mostly set up and I insisted on going first. The last few times I have tried climbing (recently) I had a lot of trouble so I was concerned about being able to get this one. ...but I started up and was very fast. It might have been the lure of a SPACE cache smiley, but I think it was that I actually had the foot loop at the proper length today and it made 1000 percent difference. I was shocked at how quickly and easily I got up! Will have to remember the setup for the next time.

I signed in and since I couldn't figure out an easy way to bring my phone/camera up, I memorized the code but also communicated it to 4wf. The code was easy to remember as I was discussing this word earlier today. Grabbed (dropped down) one of the trackables that Donut left and then got the heck down from there. Then Mark went up for his turn and we packed up and bushwacked outta there.

Now that I've realized that I actually am capable of climbing I'm psyched to do more. Thanks for putting this fun and challenging multi together [:)]

This cache ended up being a lot of fun. It certainly wasn't fun to get to though with the summer overgrowth. It was quite the bushwhack to stage one, but it was a pretty cool area. We searched for a bit before coming up with it. Donut and I actually searched the same area a couple of times before finally finding the container where we had already searched. Nice hide, pretty tough. We had all of the climbing gear along with us, prepared for the next stage.....So we headed off to GZ.

We came upon some kind of trail eventually, which was nice.....for a minute.....then it was back to bushwhacking. It wasn't too far in when we saw the cache in its perch. It was a nice clean shot, so rigging up the tree was quick and painless. The climb was just that as well. Nice and clean, lots of fun. We thought we heard voices while I was heading up the tree and we found out later that they weren't just in our head. There were other cachers in the vicinity! I mean, why else would somebody want to be out here outside of hunting season?

So after signing the log and packing up the gear, we tried to find a better way back to the jeep. We kind of did, but still had to bushwhack to get back. All in all though, pretty nicely done cache. We ran into trowel32 when we got back to the jeep (nice to see you too!) and discovered that it was indeed her and 4wf that we heard back near GZ. We hung around and chatted a little bit before heading off to the nearby SPACE wherigo.

This was another quality installment in the SPACE series and it's nice to see how appropriately rated this one is. Glad there's still a place where climbing caches are published! Thanks for the fun.

Traditional Bill and I noticed this when it published and immediately added it to the weekend's list.
We parked and grabbed all of the gear. There was a trail...sort of...then nothing. We lugged the gear to the first stage and looked. And looked. And looked. Somewhere around the time we were going to try and brute force it, we looked in one place we had already searched many times before. Whoa! There it is. How did we miss that?
Armed with the next stage cords, we carted the gear to 5he next stage. Whew! Glad we didn't try to brute force this. We would not have been successful.
Bill rigged the tree, geared up and climbed to the container. He said he heard voices (turned out to be Trowel and Fool), but we ignored it. After signing in, we broke down the set up, loaded up the gear and hiked back to the ride, where we met up with Trowel. Chatted for a minute or two and then we went on with our day. Thanks for the fun adventure. TFTH. TFTC.
